HMS has an excellent working relationship with the US Coast Guard. We have set the standard for safety training inspection. Because we owned or operated vessels of all types (high-speed ROPAX, military theater support vessels, car ferries, high-speed passenger only vessels, casino vessels, dinner cruise vessels, whale watching and steam excursion vessels,) we are well versed in all pertinent regulations.
We are accustomed to working in complex regulatory environments. As the operator of the Theater Support Vessel WestPac Express, we were appointed to conjoin regulatory infrastructure. HMS authored the multi-agency "Joint Operating Agreement" that created a responsibility and reporting matrix between the United States Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, United States Marine Corps, Germanischer Lloyd, Austal Pty Ltd, and Hornblower Marine Services.
